In the world of measurement, the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB), Germany’s national metrology institute, is one of the world’s leading institutions. Virtually every physical quantity is measured at PTB with the utmost accuracy, and the associated measurement technology is constantly being refined. In addition to statutory tasks and numerous calibration services, metrological research and development are at the heart of PTB’s work. PTB is a technical authority under the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE) and employs a total of around 2,100 staff at its two sites in Braunschweig and Berlin.
