Simulated environment testing- Operating room - Functional testing
Karolinska Institutet (KI)
Centre for Imaging Research (CIR) is a world-leading imaging centre at Karolinska Institutet in Sweden in collaboration with SciLIfeLab and RISE. It offers an exceptional collection of core facilities for cutting-edge structural, functional, and metabolic in vivo multimodal imaging and endovascular/minimally invasive surgical techniques. The core facility Karolinska Experimental Research and Imaging Centre (KERIC) offers simulated environmental operating rooms for surgical training and medical and robotic device testing. KERIC is a joint university- and hospital facility that gives you access to expert surgeons, medical doctors, technicians and researchers expertise. The four operation units are equipped with: • Anaesthesia equipment (Dräger Primus Infinity) • Monitoring equipment (Datex / Philips MX800) • Operating table (TruSystem 7000) • Surgical diathermy (Valleylab, ForceTriad) • Surgical light (Maquet Volista) • Patient warming units (Mistral Air) • Surgical suction • Standard surgical instruments Our operating rooms are regularly used for surgical training in transplantation, neuro/stroke, pediatric surgery, specialist trauma expertise, otorhinolaryngology, gynaecology, and pediatric surgery. In this service, we offer full support in project consultation, ethical permits, module technical support, expert surgeons, animal technicians and data analysis.
