Service Description

CEA contributes its Biomedical & Clinical research center called Clinatec, specialized in neurotech-nologies. It involves a multi-disciplinary team with neuroscientists, Imaging experts, Hardware and soft-ware engineers, Clinical research assistants, neurosurgeons and nurses, and project managers. It addresses neurotechnology development from early-stage concept to pilot clinical trials (TRL1 to TRL6).

Within the motion analysis laboratory, this service can offer: 3D motion analysis system: - full body motion analysis comprizing 8 infrared cameras, 2 high-resolution cameras, 2 plantar pressure sensors, - Wireless pressure sensors and non-invasive electromyographic sensors (system Cometa) - Gait analysis thanks to a full GAITrite system (Spatio-temporal gait parameter analysis system) - definition of an anatomical model - motion sequence validation with an exoskeleton - movement tracking of robotics Data acquisition can be completed with data analysis service.

Clinical and regulatory support to set up and submit the clinical study within French regulatory framework. Examples: clinical study to validate an exoskeleton on patients ; to validate a rehabilitation device on patients, ...

Operational Details

Service Inputs The Motion Lab set-up provides precise measurements (angle, displacement, speed) to validate external systems or new medical treatments, for example, which could have an effect on biome-chanical aspects of the human body. Its location in the heart of Clinatec could prove to be very advantageous, given the opportunity to draw on in-house expertise for drafting and submitting for a clinical trial application. The execution of clinicals trial could be supported by researchers, engineers, medical and paramedical teams within Clinatec.
Service Outputs CEA can help with: • Project design • Project execution • Data analysis & evaluation • Hardware/software evaluation • Regulatory and clinical support The service is delivered in tight collaboration with the Grenoble-Alpes University Hospital, thus ensuring appropriate medical expertise availability.
