Service Description

CEA contributes its Biomedical & Clinical research center called Clinatec, specialized in neurotechnologies. It involves a multi-disciplinary team with neuroscientists, Imaging experts, Hardware and software engineers, Clinical research assistants, neurosurgeons and nurses, project managers, … It addresses neurotechnology development from early-stage concept to pilot clinical trial (TRL1 to TRL6).

The MALDI (Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization) service provides mass spectrometry analyses dedicated to the characterization of biological tissues and complex biological samples. It is intended for studies requiring the identification, localization, and relative distribution of molecular species within biological specimens. The analytical workflow includes sample assessment, preparation, data acquisition, and processing according to standardized protocols to ensure reproducibility and analytical reliability. Data are processed using dedicated software to characterize the molecular composition and spatial distribution of analytes.

The service includes both MALDI imaging and molecular profiling analyses. Ex vivo imaging enables the spatially resolved detection of multiplex molecular species within tissue sections, whereas profiling analyses provide the follow-up of molecular target in complex biological samples.

Operational Details

Service Inputs With this service, the customer will have access to label-free detection of molecular species that cannot be readily investigated using conventional spatial biology techniques (IF, IHC, etc). If ionisation is possible, he had the ability to characterize the spatial distribution of multiple molecular analytes simultaneously within the same biological tissue, without the need for target-specific probes or antibodies.
Service Outputs Support is available throughout the different stages of the project, including experimental design, feasibility assessment, sample preservation and preparation, data acquisition and processing. Dataset, analysis report
