Service Description

OVERVIEW Provision of clinical datasets that are curated, annotated by clinical experts, and available under several standardised formats upon request This service provided by clinical and IT experts, is aimed at delivering high-quality labelled real-world datasets to ensure efficient and high-performing AI solutions trainings.

HOW CAN THE SERVICE HELP YOU ? Developing reliable AI solutions requires high-quality labelled data. This service provides clinically validated and standardized datasets that reduce data preparation efforts while improving data quality and consistency. Clinical annotation by domain experts enhances the relevance of the data for machine learning applications, enabling more efficient model training, validation, and performance evaluation.

HOW WILL THE SERVICE BE DELIVERED ? The service starts with the identification of customers' objectives, including target clinical domain, cohort, annotation requirements, and preferred interoperability format. Clinical and technical experts perform data extraction, curation, quality assessment, annotation, and standardization before providing the dataset through secure data sharing mechanisms (using the secure FileCap software solution) or approved secure computing environments. Delivery timelines depend on dataset complexity, annotation requirements, data availability, and applicable regulatory approvals.

PROVIDER DESCRIPTION HUmani CHU Charleroi-Chimay is a hospital network composed of five general and specialized hospitals and 8 polyclinics offering healthcare services in more than fifty medical and surgical specialties. Located in Belgium, at the heart of Europe, we are strongly committed to clinical research with the support of a dedicated Clinical Research Unit offering Clinical Research Organization (CRO)-like services.

TECHNICAL DETAILS The service includes: • Extraction of real-world clinical data from hospital information systems. • Data cleaning, preprocessing, and quality assessment. • Clinical annotation and labelling by healthcare professionals. • Data curation to improve consistency and completeness. • Standardization using international interoperability models, including OMOP CDM and HL7 FHIR, etc.. • Data anonymization or pseudonymization. • Preparation of FAIR-compliant datasets where applicable. • Delivery of structured datasets suitable for AI training, validation, and benchmarking.

SERVICE CUSTOMIZATION The service can be adapted to customer’s needs: • target patient population and cohort selection criteria; • clinical variables and data domains to be included; • level and type of clinical annotation or labelling; • interoperability standard and delivery format; • data preprocessing and standardization requirements. The scope of the service depends on data availability, Internal policies and requirements, regulatory approvals, and legal constraints.
